About Me

I received my ordination to officiate weddings through the Universal Life Church - an interfaith and nondenominational ministry - in 2008. Because the ULC embraces a diversity of beliefs, it allows me to write and legally perform ceremonies for the non-religious and spiritually unaffiliated.
I have chosen this profession as a way of life because of my firm belief that non-belief does not negate the very real feelings of love that two people share for each other. Love is more than just a chemical imbalance, and Marriage is more than just a legally binding agreement between two parties. Marriage is the ultimate declaration of love and commitment, entered into with open eyes and open hearts, to pursue together happiness everafter. The existence or acknowledgment of a God is not necessary for this pursuit, nor for laying the foundation of a family, This is why I am called the Unusual Officiant - I am a spiritual agnostic who believes the vows made in a marriage ceremony are more than just words.
In the late 20th Century, I was a guitarist and the main songwriter in a rock-and-roll band, and in the 21st Century I received my bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice. Since I performed my first wedding in 2008, and in the many that have followed since then, I have come to realize that doing so is the only thing that has ever made me feel so satisfied, so fulfilled. When you choose me as your officiant, you know you are choosing someone who is passionate about your passion, and in love with the idea of being in love.
Marriage License Information

In New Mexico, a marriage license from the County Clerk's office is required and must be brought to the ceremony to be signed by two witnesses and the Officiant. Both of you need to be present at your County Clerk's office to apply for the license. I will be happy to assist you in this if you have not already acquired the license.
